1) Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

A group of 4 friends trekking through the snow-covered hills of Manali. Is there something else you could ask for? With Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles. This movie is a must-watch for every group of friends. And you might not know, you afterall may end up planning that long-delayed Trekking Trip.

 

2) Rock On

Rock On has a cult status in Bollywood. This movie inspired thousands of people to follow their passion for music. It movie taught us if you have perfect friends you can achieve all your dreams. No matter how late or old you get, with the perfect friends it’s never too late to follow your dreams. Also who can forget, this movie also brought with it the trend of long hair, thanks to Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal.

 

3) Dil Chahta Hai

The movie which gave birth to the very famous Goa Plan. Amongst all the movies on the list, this is my favorite. This movie directed by Farhan Akhtar is a piece of art. It perfectly shows the concept of brotherhood and how sometimes we end up losing people. Just to get them back much stronger. And the biggest takeaway from this movie was the song Dil Chahta Hai’

 

4) 3 Idiots

Another Aamir Khan movie on the list. This time the story is about 3 friends who meet in am engineering college and the everyday problems they go through and their completely unusual ways of solving those problems. Raju Hirani has my heart for directing this movie flawlessly. This movie will make you miss your college days for sure.

 

5) Munna Bhai MBBS

Munna Bhai and circuit are gonna go down as the best duo in the history of Bollywood. Another masterpiece of art by none other than Raju Hirani. Munna and circuit will make you laugh, Munna and circuit will make you cry. They will make you feel almost every possible emotion in the human body. But they will make you wish for your circuit or Munna the most.

 

6) Sholay

Hands down we have to agree this is one of the best Bollywood movies ever made. Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra have done a fantastic job is acing the role of Jai and Veeru. This movie is no doubt in everyone’s hall of fame. Even after years of release, the iconic bong of Jai Veeru lives inside all of us.

 

7) Rang De Basanti

The dialogue, ” Koi Bhi Desh perfect Nahi Hota, use perfect banana Hota hai”. Still gives goosebumps to millions. This movie based on a bunch of friends on the backdrop of a political satire is majestic. There is nothing about this movie that you can’t like. The chemistry amongst the actors, the songs, the script. Everything is just perfect. This movie shows that there aren’t any friends, there is just a family.

 

8) Kal Ho Na Ho

This wasn’t a love triangle. This was a story of a great friendship between Aman, Naina, and Rohit. This movie will make you wish for an Aman in your life. A friend who always gives you everything but never in life asked for anything in return. The biggest takeaway from this movie was the chemistry between Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. And the all-time classic reactions of Kanta bai.

 

9) Fukrey

This line from Manoj Singh, “Phati ke Dhol kharide hai, sath mei Bajayenge.” sums up a friendship. Friends are the ones who stick by you no matter how rough it gets. This movie perfectly depicts the modern-day friendship of the ‘Dilli ke launde’. Every character in this movie has done a stunning job to ace their character.

 

10) Kai Po Che

Based on the best-selling novel, three mistakes of my life by Chetan Bhagat. The movie is about three friends, set in the backdrop of The Gujrat riots. This movie will surely teach you a lesson or two about friendship, losses and guilt. The biggest takeaway from the movie was the chemistry between the three lead actors.

 

11) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Yet another movie which will make you pack your bags, get your gang together and get going for that Road trip you always keep canceling. This movie by Zoya Akhtar is a landmark movie in Bollywood, it changed the way we saw friendships completely. This movie made us realize, friendship is also about accepting each other’s flaws and forgiving the other person.

 

12) Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

The movie which taught all of us, “Pyaar Dosti hai.” We still can’t get over the chemistry between Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. Karan Johar has done a fantastic job in directing this masterpiece. This movie made us all realize that sometimes, we may end up falling in love with our best friend. And if we do that it is the best decision we can ever take.

 

13) Andaz Apna Apna

The first time I saw this movie was 10 years back, and I loved it. And since then every time I’ve seen this movie. I love it more, every damn time. We all can never forget the amazing chemistry of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. As kids we loved Crime Master Gogo and Teja. And now as adults we love and cherish the friendship and bond of Amar and Prem.

 

14) Sanju

Yet another brilliance of art by Raju Hirani. The masterpiece made us all cry and laugh throughout the life of Sanjay Dutt. But the bond this movie celebrated the most was between Sanju and Kamli. We all still get the jitters on hearing that, “Tiger Hai Tu Tiger, Roar Kar Roar.” This movie sure as hell made us all wish for a friend like Kamli who would never leave us, especially in our dark times.

 

15) Chhichhore

A movie that celebrates the bond of friendship, the spirit of being in college and the relationship between a father and son. This movie is a delight for everyone. Each and every actor has done a fine job acing their character. This movie is sure as hell going to take you for a walk down the memory lane, and you will definitely end up calling your old College Pals.
